Jenne Carey is an award-winning singer and award-nominated actress whose "stage presence is matched by her wonderful voice" (The Suburban, Montreal) and who delivers a "spectacular acting and vocal performance" (Stage Magazine, New Jersey). Jenne has performed in prestigious venues across the United States, Canada and Japan and her many roles include Adina (Elixir of Love), Linda (Linda di Chamounix), The Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute), Mabel (Pirates of Penzance), and Belinda (Dido and Aeneas). Jenne made her European debut in Italy performing the role of Susanna (Marriage of Figaro). Jenne has been featured in the NYC premieres of a number of new operas and has lent her voice to the soundtrack of a major motion picture. Jenne was among a select group of singers chosen to share the stage with Andrea Bocelli and other guest artists during his "Live in Central Park" concert. Jenne is in demand as a concert soloist and her repertoire includes Handel's Messiah, Fauré's Requiem and Bach's Cantata 51, Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen. An avid choral singer, Jenne was the only female selected to represent Canada in the World Youth Choir on its tours throughout Israel and Europe. Jenne holds a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College.
As an actor, Jenne recently perfomed the role of Mae Jemison in the full-length play Mae, based on the life of the first African-American woman to travel to space. Jenne has also created content and performed roles with Honest Accomplice Theatre in NYC. Jenne has performed a number of Shakespeare roles including Titania in an abridged version of Midsummer Night's Dream with Sweet Tea Shakespeare in Fayetteville, NC. In film, Jenne performed the role of Janet in the recently released independent film "Exit 14B". Jenne has studied the Meisner Technique and received training at Playhouse 22.
Jenne has held various teaching positions at colleges and universities across the country. She has taught and currently teaches a variety of courses including Applied Voice, Class Piano, American Music, Music Appreciation, History of Rock 'N Roll, Voice & Diction, as well as directed a number of ensembles. Jenne is currently a full-time
Jenne has held various teaching positions at colleges and universities across the country. She has taught and currently teaches a variety of courses including Applied Voice, Class Piano, American Music, Music Appreciation, History of Rock 'N Roll, Voice & Diction, as well as directed a number of ensembles. Jenne is currently a full-time faculty member and choir director. When not teaching, Jenne is an active performer and a proud Guardian ad Litem.
